What's New
What's new with Flying Eagle??
August 21, 2009
The fishing season is going well, with great fishing at this time around the corner between Miners point and Eagles nest, as well as good trolling on the outside of Shrimp Island. Hovering over 50 feet of water with the bait down 25 feet or four colors. Like last year Eagle Lake RV Park has been moving their shallower docks out every 2 to 3 weeks so there is plenty of water under them. There has been alot of waiting for the dredging of the Spalding south launch ramp. Alot of red tape and meeting Lahonton requirements. Finally some forward progress, all requirements are met and we're waiting on emergency $$ that have been verbally approved by Boats and Waterways. Things are looking good and we believe that by the end of September we'll be dredged. Any sooner and we'll have it out on the internet in a flash.
We're still launching Klamaths, Fish Rites, North Rivers, Alumawelds and Custom Weld boats at this time. As well as all small aluminum boats. The launch ramp is measuring 3 to 4 feet deep and the sand bar is currently between 20 to 23 inches deep. We're simply raising our motors up as we pass over the sand bar or using the kicker motors.
